Microchipping
In one rescue we support, of over 200 ferrets rescued in 2003, only 1 had been microchipped. Many other ferrets could have been reunited with their owners if only they’d been identifiable.
To encourage rescues to consider microchipping all animals being adopted we are sponsoring places on the microchipping courses run by The Pet Chip Company Ltd. The 3 hour training courses take place country-wide and each is supervised by a veterinary surgeon. All chipped animals are registered with Petlog and the European Pet Network (EPN).
We may also be able to offer assistance to ferret rescues with the cost of equipment and microchips.
